Qualitative methods such as participant observation, interview, and content analysis were used. Analyses of data showed that children were able to mobilize prior knowledge and experiences to interpret the meanings embedded in the texts and pictures in rich and diverse ways. Some factors affecting the students’ meaning construction were also identified. These included gender stereotype, teacher framing, peer influence, and personal background. Finally, the researcher presents some suggestions for interested teachers and researchers. 沈添鉦 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 289 zh-TW
