Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 教育科技學系 === 91 === Because of the in-service training for teachers could not meet the needs of their professional development and the contents of lectures are more to the theoretical aspect, teachers could not easily give out their professional knowledge to daily teaching. “Case Method” provides the actual situations of what teachers might have to face while teaching. Actual cases could also lead teachers to build up the ability of transforming theoretical concepts to concreteness. Due to the rapidly developing Internet technology and its connectivity all over the world, some problems of teachers’ self improvement over their profession could be solved. E.g. funding, time, geographical location, and deliveries etc. This study was intended to apply the "Case Method" to the web-based learning community for teacher’s professional growth, in order to contribute to the in-service training and professional development of the teachers, and to raise their related domain knowledge. The major findings of this study was: The study indicated the model of the development of web-based learning community for teachers’ professional growth, the feasibility of using case method in the web-based learning community, the instructional design of system functions and exercises playing the crucial factors in the learning community, personal credit function motivates the members of the community, searching function is essential for a case-based learning community, and four special roles- content expert, host, system and network administrator, and e-tutor for the learning community. Finally, the study proposed several suggestions in terms of the developments of learning community, the developments of system functions, security, develop tools, and further research.
