It can combine with different bleach procedures to reduce lignin quantity, to reduce bleach and chemicals, and to increase bleachability. Just with the slight change of viscosity and paper quality, the AOX was reduced. The cellulase is an enzyme of degrading cellulose. It is helpful to pulp bleaching, to decompose about paper mill fiber residue and remnant fiber of black liquid. The strain of thermophilic aerobe xylan-degrading bacteria was isolated from Taiwan Pulp & Paper Corporation Hsinying Mill’s black liquid before bleach in this study. Strain BL11 to proceed shape identification and biochemical characteristics was investigated in this study. Xylanase and cellulase of each isolates were further investigated. Strain BL11 was Paenibacillus sp., gram-positive rod bacterium, endospore-forming. The optimum growth conditions:The optimum growth carbon source and nitrogen source of strain BL11 was Maltose and Yeast extract, the optimum growth temperature was 60 ℃, the optimum pH was 5.5;catalase positive;oxidase negative;Indole negative;H2S negative, aerobic. About the different substrates used for utilization test, strain BL11could catabolize Glucose, L-Rhamnose, Mannose, Arabinose, Lactose, Xylan, Glycerol, D(+)-Maltose, Starch, D(+)-Raffinose, Avicel and CMC。 About the enzyme activity test, The CMCase, avicelase, salicinase and xylanase had the highest activity when the strain BL11 were incubated for 4-12 hours in the basal medium. But among them, the activation of CMCase is under comparing with other documents, its activation is not strong, but other three kinds of ferments can reach the ferment activation of the maximum promptly within short time , so there is better using value. In this study, BL11 had high-activity xylanase. When cultivated at the optimum growth conditions, the enzyme can be mass produced. For further investigation into the characteristics of thermophilic aerobe xylan-degrading bacteria. Chun-Han Ko 柯淳涵 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 69 zh-TW
