The research methodology for this study is case study method applying to a local dominant firm in Taiwan. The major summaries and conclusions are as follows: 1. Due to the source of movie pictures is controlled by a multinational conglomerate and the difficulty of the protection of intellectual property rights and copyrights, local video rental companies are facing severe challenges in running business now and ahead. 2. From value-chain analysis, to create market segmentation and complete information technology, logistic support and good human resources teams all become very much crucial to the success of video rental business. 3. From SWOT analysis, to keep expanding the market share with fulfillment of the majority of consumers’ taste, later on after the video rental industry reaches the mature stage, the video exchange business model will replace current video rental style. 劉代洋 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 95 zh-TW
