Subjects are sixty students from two second-grade classes in Changhua County, one class represents the experimental group, while the other one is the control group. Three assessment tools are conducted which include “Drawing test with children”, “Instruction sheet” and “Rating sheet for the picture books” designed by the author. The data is processed by statistics methods such as T-test, Chi-square test for goodness of fit etc. The results of this study are listed as follows: 1. Picture books instruction increases second graders’ drawing performance by choices of facade, flank, interrelation, frame of reference and X-ray pictures. 2. The second graders’ drawings in facade, flank, interrelation, frame of reference and X-ray pictures are improved after the picture books instruction. 3. Picture books instruction curriculum has a positive impact on second graders’ art vision. 4. The second graders are fond of picture books with styles of realism, cartoon and amusement.
