The results could be served as a reference to improve the students of continuation vocational high schools will to further their study in computer practical course . To acquire the results, questionnaires were used as a major tool. Factors that affect learning motivation are at first confirmed by probing into documents. The factors of the study include parenting styles, students’ learning motivation, personal data, and family background. The study uses 94 continuation vocational high schools, (including senior vocational high school night classes ) in data processing department’s all students as its sample population. Use stratified random sampling to select 14 schools and then use cluster sampling to select 52 classes, total sample numbers are 1,481. 14 schools return the questionnaires. 1,280 questionnaires were collected with a return rate of 96.64%. 1237 valid questionnaires were included. The questionnaires include personal data, charts of parenting styles, learning motivation, and learning achievement. Data were analyzed by a mean, standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation, Chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé method. The results are as follows: 1.Most students of continuation vocational high schools are from families with lower social economic status (SES). 2. The relationships between parenting styles, students’ learning motivation of continuation vocational high schools show significant positive correlations. 3. The relationships between parenting styles, students’ learning achievement of continuation vocational high schools show significant positive correlations. 4. The relationships between parent background , students’ parent styles of continuation vocational high schools show significant positive correlations. 5.Parent’s eduation degree and work greatly influence parenting styles. 6. Students’ gender , degree , place and family greatly influence parenting styles. 7. The relationships between Studes’ parent background and learning motivation show no significant difference. 8. The relationships between Students’learning motivation and learning achievement show significant positive correlations. 9. Parenting Styles, Learning motivation and students’ intent to further study are good predictors of students’ learning achievement.
