Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 95 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of student argumentation ability in science classroom and the teaching of integrating argumentation into science. Twenty-therr participants attending the argumentation activities are from grades 3. 4. 5. and 6. During the two months extrecurricular aetivitice, the teaching practices were observed. The teacher and 8 target students were interviewed after each period of teaching. In addiction, one class of sixth graders(N=15) were used as comparison group to examine the argumentation ability difference with the experimental group. This research is conducted at extracurricular activities. This research tries to quantify the information from the argumentation activities paper exam. The results of research are as follows: 1. The experiment group students made significant progress on four out of 8 test units. 2. The difference of argumentation ability between the two groups become bigger as the the extracurricular activicties going on from time to time. 3. The teaching strategies used by the case teacher include: a. Using cartoon characters that are well known by students to motivate learning. b. Promoting group discuessions through guestioning. c. Providing controversial issues to motivate student debate. d. Making conclusions and clarifying scientific concehts at the end of discuessions.
