The questionnaire with interview is adopted to collect data. The self-edited “Questionnaire for Surveying on the Current Condition of Using Clustered Classroom Space from the Perspective of Elementary School Teachers” serves as the research tool. The purposive sampling method is adopted for 20 schools that are equipped with open space of clustered classroom. The distributed questionnaires amount to 580 copies with 460 recoveries, among which, the effective samples are 381, rate of usefulness is 65.7%. The obtained data is processed through statistic methods. In the respect of interviewing, which primarily focus on context which needs further understanding and hereby draft question outlines on the basis of questionnaire results. In accordance with the analysis and discussion of the result from this study, the following conclusion is obtained: 1. It is shown that teachers use the space of clustered classroom more, except to perform teaching in the clustered class in the multi-purpose learning space, and the main question is that among teachers existed coordination and communication problems and the enhanced burden for teachers. 2. Learning field teaching performed in multi-purpose learning space are took the most proportion by integrated activity field, language art field and art and humanity field. 3. Manpower shortage is the main problem that teachers encountered in common while utilizing multi-purpose learning space and learning corner, and the problem of noise is the main problem that teachers are confronted with while utilizing elastic and movable partitions. 4. Various interference encountered by teachers when using clustered classroom space including noise interference, class interference and active as well as static activities interference, which could be improved by moving the shield, training students to control volume, controlling the number of people to use the share space, and through the methods of coordination or common consensus among teachers to improve these conditions. 5. In using seminar room, female teachers employ that more than males, middle and higher grade teachers employ that more than lower grade ones, and teachers in urban area employ that more than those in rural area. In the condition of team teaching performing in multi-purpose learning space, teachers in schools with less than 18 classes utilize more than those in school with 19 to 36 classes or more than 55 classes. In the utilizing condition of learning material and movable shield with flexibility for work pieces exhibition, teachers aged above 41 employ more than those under 30, teachers in large scale schools employ more than those in small scale schools, teachers in urban areas employ more than those in rural areas, and teachers that have served in traditional closed schools employ more than those without this kind of teaching experiences. 6. Teachers are aware of the condition that school administrative units support teachers in utilizing clustered classroom space is low, the possible reasons primarily involve with the policies and attitudes of the school administrative units and education authority. 7. Teachers with different sex, academic background, seniority show no great difference in the perception of the school administrative unit support teachers to perform clustered classroom teaching. 8. Teachers holding “positive view” consider that “helpful for teachers to teach as well as for students to learn” take the highest frequency; teachers hold “negative viewpoint” consider that “yield to problems of interference” take the highest frequency. The negative problems discovered in this study also included low practicability, problems due to large space, poor ventilation, insufficient administrative support, and teachers hurt their throat easily. Finally, based on the conclusion, the suggestions for school administrators, teachers, and further study are proposed in the study. Key words: clustered classroom space, elementary school, teachers
