Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 96 === The main purpose of this research is to probe into the 6th, 7th and 9th graders’ views of nature of science (NOS) differences, after they have been taught the nine-year integrated curriculum of nature and life technology, among some factors, e.g. grade, sex and region (county) in eastern Taiwan. The questionnaire investigation method was employed in this study. There were 1,687 students, from three counties—Yilan, Hualien and Taitung, of the 6th, 7th and 9th grade from 54 classes being selected by random sampling. “Questionnaires of the Nature of Science,” edited by Wang-Jiu Huang and Yueh–Mei Lee in 2003, was utilized. Some statistical methods like t-test, one-way ANOVA, etc. were used to analyze collected data. The main research findings are as follows. 1. In eastern Taiwan, the 6th, 7th and 9th graders’ views of NOS are closer to modern scientific philosophy view. And, the 9th graders’ total expression of view of NOS is much closer to “modern view” than that of 7th graders and has reached significant difference. 2. The 6th, 7th and 9th graders’ views of NOS have regional difference. Generally speaking, students in Yilan county and in Hualien county, their views of NOS are much closer to “modern view” than that of students in Taitung county. To make a comparison between the years of 2004 and 2007 for the 6th graders, only Yilan county students’ view of NOS has significant difference. To make a comparison between the 6th graders in the year of 2004 and the 9th graders in the year of 2007, only Hualien county students’ view of NOS has significant difference. 3. Students’ views of NOS among all three grades-- the 6th, 7th and 9th grade, have the phenomenon of “girl students are closer to modern view than that of boy students.” Analyze further into the region, sex in 6thand 9th grade of Yilan and in 6th and 7th grade of Taitung has reached significant difference. To make a comparison between the years of 2004 and 2007 for the 6th graders: for boy students, only in Taitung county, the expression of view of NOS has significant difference on the item of “science enterprise”; for girl students, Yilan county students have significant difference on the items of “total views of NOS” and “science exploration” and Taitung county students have significant difference on the item of “science enterprise.” To make a comparison between the 6th graders in the year of 2004 and the 9th graders in the year of 2007, only Hualien county’s boy and girl students have significant difference on “views of NOS.” Finally, according to above-mentioned findings in the study, the researcher offer some suggestions relative to views of NOS in future researches.
