The result will be applied as a reference resource for study counseling in the future. The study applies the post-test control design. The object is 24 seventh-grade students of Bade Junior High School, Taoyuan County. The students are selected from an S shape list and assigned to experiment group or control group separately. The members of the experiment group receive study counseling of the Task Value Clarification Group Program for eight times. However, the control group members will not be treated until the next semester. The students’ performances of learning motivation are measured after the experiment is finished. Besides, the study achievements are taken as dependent variables to measure the difference between the two groups with the English average scores of the first mid-term examination for the second semester. The acquired information is undergone the compiling test with paired sample t test. Conclusions of this research are as follows: 1. The effect of the treatment on the learning motivation of junior high school students: Although the difference of learning motivation between the two groups is not remarkable, the experiment group members experience positively in the program and activities participation. 2. The effect of the treatment on the study achievements of the junior high school students: Although the difference of study achievements between the two groups is not remarkable, the English achievements of most of the experiment group members improve. 3. In order to upgrade the counseling work and consequent researches of Task Value, the related advices have been brought up in accordance with the result of this study and referring to the program design and the practicing procedure. 林清文 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 144 zh-TW
