Yet, owing to such a free and open characteristics, the learning results of students vary a lot in e-learning. One reason is that it’s lack of the direct supervision of the teacher, the other is that the students aren’t easy to understand their learning conditions through a series of complicated progress records. Hence, this study is trying to establish an internet learning guiding system, “Professional Progress Index” , and enhance the motivations of students’ ego progress and hand over the learning situations of themselves and other students.  This study bases on learning conditions and questionnaire survey of students, and it reveals the following meanings for the learners by combining with “Professional Progress Index” through objective statistics and subjective questionnaire survey. (1) The “Professional Progress Index” can instantaneously represent the whole learning conditions of the learners and provide each learner a suitable online leaning community professional identity. (2)The learners will care for the changes of the index and it’ll transform to both pressures and motivations of the learners, and then further to take attention on their learning conditions and compare with others in order to provide an early warning system for instantaneous self-regulated learning. (3)The representation of the index, make the learners know well with their learning conditions and promote the self-regulated learning ability. (4)The “Professional Progress Index” can also promote the speech quality of the forum on bulletin board and achieve the professional leading for online leaning community.  The “Professional Progress Index” system now is just an experimental plan in initial stage, the index will be further examined after improving the system by applied in websites of teacher professional development.
