A multiple probes design across behaviors of single-subject experimental design was implemented.
An elementary second-grade school child with severe autism participated the play-based question comprehension instruction designed by the researcher. The independent variable was the play-based question comprehension instruction.The dependent variable was the score of the participant’s answering the following questions:1.What is inside the + N.?2.What is the shape of + N.? and3.what did you take to+somebody?
The information collected was evaluated by visual analysis, and supplemented by direct observation and questionnaire.
The major findings were summarized as the followings:
1. The score of ansering questions1、question2,and question3 improved immediately after intervention.
2. The score of ansering questions1、question2,and question3 improved immediately after intervention and sustained well in nature situations.
3. The child’s parents and teachers had positive attitude toward the effects of the play-based question comprehension instruction on aswering questions.
