Summary: | 碩士 === 國防大學政治作戰學院 === 心理碩士班 === 97 === Whether in business or in army, the impact of a leader rewards, his/her subordinates is impossible to measure. If a leader can use appropriately any incentive reward, an individual subordinate’s work motivation can be elevated, the work efficacy of a whole organization will be enhanced. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the impacts of different leader’s rewarding strategies on their subordinates. Besides, the researcher also wanted to realize the moderating role of group cohesion.
The research adopted the “equal-experimental design”, and the samples were 287 recruits of one military unit. The instruments were a set of force cohesion and work performance questionnaires organized by the researcher. The conclusions were:
1. A leader’s rewarding behavior had a positive impact on subordinates’ performances.
2. Subordinates rewarded individually had a better performance than rewarded by group.
3. The subordinates who were rewarded in individual and by group simultaneously only had the greatest work performances.
4. Group cohesion had a moderating effect on the leader's rewarding strategies and the relationships between subordinates’ work performance.
