Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 教育科技研究所(Graduate Institute of Educational Tech === 98 === The study aims to explore the effect of the TEFL to elementary school students by using interactive whiteboards as a tool to present multimedia materials and systematic drills in a cooperative learning as the teaching strategy. In addition, I attempted to investigate if the EFL learning through the interactive whiteboards can activate teachers' instruction, learners’ achievement and motivation. A quasi-experimental with factorial experiment of interaction design was carried out in this study, including 93 fourth graders. The period of the experiment lasted for 12 weeks. The subject was divided into 3 groups according to different teaching strategies: The first group was shown the multimedia materials through the interactive whiteboards and being instructed to do the systematic drills in a cooperative learning; the second group was not shown the multimedia materials through the interactive whiteboards in comparison with the first group; the third group accepted a cooperative learning. These three groups were classified to three different levels, including high, middle and low levels, based on their performances of English sentence recognition which was the post-test in this study. In addition, they took “English Sentence’s Achievement Test” and “English Learning Interest Scale" the week before the experiment and that after the experiment respectively. The results are as follows: 1.The effect of the first group’s EFL learning with systematic drills in a cooperative learning through interactive whiteboards was significant based on the English Sentence’s Achievement Test and English Learning Interest Scale. 2.According to the result, for EFL elementary school students, learning with systematic drills in a cooperative learning through interactive whiteboards not only increased their chances to practice, but also enhanced their learning motivation. Besides, learners can review old programs and preview new programs at the same time through the interactive whiteboards.
