We used questionnaire survey as our study method; subjects of this study are 6th grade students. The total number of valid samples is 476. The self-developed “fractional word-problems questionnaire” was used as our study tool which meets the purpose of our study. The content of the questionnaire test includes “scope of question” and “level of question”; each includes 3 and 4 phases. According to the result of our analysis, the findings we conclude in this study are: (1) In general, students’ performance on “fractional word-problems” is not good and there is no significant difference between genders. However, the bigger the school area is, the better the performance.(2) The “scope of question” includes “partial quantity”, “fractional number”, and “the entire quantity”. In these three types of questions, students feel it is the most difficult to work out the entire number when they need to be able to find out the unit of fraction provided in the question(3) About “level of question”, 4 levels of questions are “basic”, “extended subtraction”, “extended addition” , and “complex” . Except for the “basic” questions, students didn’t do well on all other levels of questions. Key word: Item response theory, fractional word-problems, questionnaire survey. 羅昭強 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
