Twenty six female elementary dancers were recruited from a local elementary school to participate in this study. The subjects were randomly assigned to experimental group (13 elementary dancers, Age: 10.9 ± 0.8 years, Height: 147.5 ± 4.9 cm, Mass: 37.9 ± 5.8 kg, Dance experience: 3.5 ±1.0 years) or control group (13 elementary dancers, Age: 11.2 ± 0.6 years, Height: 146.1 ± 6.4 cm, Weight: 36.1 ± 6.9 kg, Dance experience: 4.2 ± 0.8 years). All subjects received the same dance lessons as routine elementary curriculum but the experimental group also underwent extra Pilates mat exercises for 40 minutes, three times a week, for 8 weeks. The jump performance was evaluated by force plate with squat jump and counter-movement jump. The LOS was evaluated by Biodex Balance System with two different stability levels. A mixed design, one-way ANCOVA was used to evaluate the difference between groups after training for each parameter. The statistic significance was set at p < .05. Results showed that after regular Pilates exercise: 1). No significant improvements were found between groups in the SJ and level 8 LOS performances; 2). The experimental group showed significant improvements in CMJ takeoff time, jump height, and explosive power than the control group; 3). The experimental group showed significant improvements in level 2 total and left direction LOS than the control group. This study demonstrated that eight weeks Pilates exercise can improve CMJ and unstable LOS performance in elementary dancers. It is suggests that Pilates exercise is benefits and should be implemented into elementary dance curriculum. Alex, J. Y. Lee 黎俊彥 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 91 zh-TW
