Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育政策與管理研究所 === 98 === The main purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of socio-economic status and attitude toward science on educational literacy of Taiwan junior high school students in PISA 2006 (Program for International Student Assessment). There is some sample selected about 8,815 from Taiwan. In this study, data were analyzed by various statistical methods, such as Hierarchical Regression Analysis, Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) .The author identified a number of significant relationships between educational literacy and effecting factors, such as socio-economic status and attitude toward science factors. The conclusions are briefly described in the followings: 1. The higher socio-economic status girls had, the better attitude toward science they gained; girls’ reading literacy is better than boys’. 2. Controling socio-economic status and attitude toward science, science literacy and math literacy had no significant gender differences. 3. The better socio-economic status boys had, the better attitude toward science boys had; boys’ attitude toward science is better than girls. 4. The better socio-economic status students had, the higher educational literacy will be. 5. Attitude toward science plays an intervening variable role which meant socio-economic status could influence on educational literacy by attitude toward science. According to these results, some suggestions were given for the education practice and further researches.
