Description
Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 國際企業學系碩士在職專班 === 99 === The concept of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), proposed by Organ in 1988, represents certain employee behavior that is spontaneous and not required by the organization in the formal system. Many previous studies tried to identify the antecedents of OCB. Only a few of them focus on the potential influence of an individual''s concern for career advancement and purpose for obtaining social approval. The primary concern of this study is to explore the relationship between employees'' tendency of both careerism and social desirability and their OCBs. In addition, this study hypothesizes that employees'' emotional intelligence and perceived organizational politics can moderate the above relationship. The results indicate that employees'' careerism, social desirability, and perceived organizational politics are negatively correlated with their OCBs. Employees'' emotional intelligence is positively correlated with their OCBs. Perceived organizational politics can moderate the relationship between employees'' careerism and their OCBs. Further recommendations for business practitioners and researchers are discussed.
