Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 數理研究所(數學組) === 99 === This study aims to investigate the current situation of special education career from the view of elementary special education teachers based on item response theory. The main subjects of the study are 83 elementary special education teachers in Hsin-chu County. The instrument is “Questionnaire survey of current situation of special education career”. The results of the study: 1. Most of the teachers have self-confidence to deal with special education work. 2. The government puts much effort in special education work, but the lack of the pre-training programs can’t fulfill the teachers’ requirements. 3. The teachers think that each special education student needs individual education program (IEP) in accordance with his characteristics, abilities, etc and accomplish the progress of IEP. 4. The teachers don’t agree the standard that is the bisection of regular and draw-out. 5. The teachers consider that they have to control the continuous interferences made by the students immediately. 6. The teachers believe that the students’ parents accept the special education, support and coordinate with the teachers’ advice. 7. The teachers hope that the administration can have a positive attitude toward special education and support barrier-free environment.
