Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 教育學系研究所 === 100 === This research adopts mixed research methods. The first step of this research is survey, quantitative research. The purpose of research is to investigate 617 Ci-hui elementary school students who attend cram school and their learning concept, learning approach and learning outcome. This research applies descriptive statistics, t-test, pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression to analyze data. There are 6 findings of this research as below. 1. The background variables in gender and in grades, their learning concept of 5th and 6th grade elementary school students who attend cram school has partial significant level in increasing individual knowledge, memorization and reproduction and preparation examination dimensions. 2. The background variables in grades and in family socioeconomic status, their learning approach of 5th and 6th grade elementary school students who attend cram school has partial significant level in surface learning approach and strategic learning approach dimensions. 3. The background variables, their learning outcome of 5th and 6th grade elementary school students who attend cram school has no significant level. 4. The 5th and 6th grade elementary school students who attend cram school in learning concept and learning approach has significant correlation level. Learning approach and learning outcome has significant correlation level. Learning concept and learning outcome has significant correlation level. 5. The 5th and 6th grade elementary school students who attend cram school, their learning concept can predict learning approach. Their memorization and reproduction and understanding dimensions can predict surface learning approach. The united explanatory variations are 25% and 8%. Their understanding, application and seeing something in a different way, memorization and reproduction dimensions can predict deep learning. The united explanatory variations are 55%, 4%, 1%, 0.3%. Their understanding, preparation examination, application, seeing something in a different way, memorization and reproduction dimensions can predict strategic learning approach. The united explanatory variations are 50%, 8%, 2%, 0.4% and 0.4%. 6. The 5th and 6th grade elementary school students who attend cram school, their learning approach, deep learning, strategic learning, and surface learning can predict learning outcome. The united explanatory variations are 39%, 7% and 4%. The second step of this research adopts interview, qualitative research. According to the result of quantitative analysis, researcher invites 39 students to be interviewees of this research and divides 39 interviewees into 3 groups, including outlier, low scores and high scores. The purpose of this interview is to understand the motivation of 5th and 6th grades students attending cram school. Students’ parents take some factors how to choose cram school into consideration and students’ learning status at cram school. There are common and different findings among three groups. Finally, this research provides some suggestions to teachers, the owners of cram schools, parents, government policies and future studies.
