The study adopted a survey and its tool was "The Questionnaires on the relationship between teachers’ leadership and their professional development of elementary school teachers". A total of 268 subjects were randomly selected from the elementary school teachers in Chiayi county and Chiaiy city. There were 241 valid questionnaires in the data analysis, and the response rate is 96.4%. Data was analyzed using SPSS, including descriptive statistics and t-test, ANOVA and Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The major findings of this study were summarized as follows: 1. The status quo of teachers’ leadership and their professional development as a whole was above average. 2. Eitehr in Chiayi City or in Chiayi County, elementary school teachers with different background variables such as gender and length of service had shown significant difference in Teachers’ leadership. 3. Eitehr in Chiayi City or in Chiayi County, elementary school teacher with different background variables such as gender, education, length of service and school scales had shown significant difference in Teachers’ professional development. 4. A positive correlation exited between teachers’ leadership and professional development for teachers in Chiayi City and Chiayi County.
