The effects of different pigments on red pigmentation of skin of koi (Cyprinus carpio) and goldfish (Carassius auratus)

碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 水產養殖學系 === 100 === The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of different pigment sources and levels on skin coloration of koi and gold fish. Experiment I: Goldfish(3.22g) and koi(26.87g) were fed with diets containing synthetic astaxanthin (5, 10, and 15 g/kg), Chlorella...

Experiment I: Goldfish(3.22g) and koi(26.87g) were fed with diets containing synthetic astaxanthin (5, 10, and 15 g/kg), Chlorella Powder (20, 40, and 60 g/kg), Rose Pink (20, 40, and 60 g/kg) and control (without carotenoid) for 30 days, respectively. Skin coloration and weight were measured individually at the end of the experiment. Color chip (PANTONE® formula guide solid uncoated) was used for skin color measurement and comparison. The number of color chip of goldfish fed diet containing 10g/kg astaxanthin was 15 which has the highest value. On the other hand, both number of color chip of koi fed diet containing 10g/kg and 15g/kg astaxanthin had the highest value (16). Goldfish fed diet with 5g/kg and 15g/kg of astaxanthin showed highest astaxanthin concentration in skin and nuscle which were ranged 5.32~29.12mg/kg and 40.67~29.92 mg/kg, respectively. Nevertheless, koi fed with control diet showed the highesr concentration of astaxanthin measured in skin ranged 3.38~8.84 mg/kg; while koi fed diet with 20g/kg of Chlorella powder showed the highest concentration of astaxanthin measured in muscle which were ranged 2.04~7.67 mg/kg. Experiment II: Koi(15.79g) were fed with diets containing synthetic astaxanthin (1g/kg), Spirulina (35g/kg), mix pigment (astaxanthin:spirulina=0.5:17.5g/kg), control, and five other commercial diets(CD) for four weeks. Results showed that, C* value detected by handy colorimeter in fish fed diet with mix pigment treatment (47.43) and CD2 (45.56) were significant higher than control(38.53), H* value in fish fed diet with mix pigment treatment(35.07) and CD5(38.85) was significant lower than control(47.32). C* value of DIAP (Digital Image Acquisition and Processing) in all treatment groups showed no significant higher than that of control, where the value were between 59 to 62; H* value of fish fed diet with mix pigment treatment (42) was significant lower than control (47). The value of color chip measured in fish fed diet with mix diet and diet CD5 treatment had highest number of color chip (13). Astaxanthin concentration measured in skin of koi fed with commercial diets (11.06~15.48 mg/kg) were significant higher than that of control(6.55 mg/kg). Experiment III: Diet without pigments supplement was used to fed the koi from experiment II for four weeks. Initial weight of koi was 21.29g. Results showed that, C* value and H* value detected by used handy colorimeter were no significant within all treatment. Where the value ranged 41.38~46.78 and 36.61~44.97 respectively. However C* value showed by DIAP was not significant difference from control (60~63), but H* value of fish fed with mix pigment treatment (43) was significant lower than control (48); The number ofcolor chip showed that fish fed with mix pigment treatment (12) was the highest in all treatment. Astaxanthin concentration measured in skin of koi showed no significant difference among all treatments (5.66~7.85mg/kg). In this study, ‘Digital Image Acquisition and Processing’ was the best method in three distinguish color method. Dr. Shyn-Shin Sheen 沈士新 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 112 zh-TW
