Additionally, this study explored the researcher’s reflections and professional development and gains. The period of research was from February to June 2012. The participants comprised 23 first graders in Yilan County where the researcher was employed during the 100th semester. Action research was adopted and the program proceeded in two stages. A curriculum program, in which eight stories were narrated, was carried out in two periods once a week. The process of conducting the program was as follows: warm-up activities, story narration, discussion questions, and extension activities, in which insights were shared and ways to facilitate cooperation were discussed. Data were collected using “Student’s Cooperative Behavior Questionnaire” “Story Teaching Questionnaire” “Parents’ Feedback Sheets” “Subject-Area Teachers’ Feedback Sheets”, observation, interviews, document analysis, etc. The main conclusions are as follows. 1. The aforementioned process is appropriate. 2. Storytelling fosters cognitive learning through cooperation and teaches students cooperation strategies. 3. In the process, students learned how to cooperate with and establish good relationships with peers, 4. Implementation of the teaching program will help increase the cooperative behavior of lower graders. 5. Teachers and parents can learn to arrange activities and facilitate cooperative behavior that can be implemented in everyday life. 6. Cooperative behavior can help enhance group discipline. Based on the above research findings, the following is recommended for teachers and future researchers. I. Teachers a. Can create their own databases of stories. b. Can base extension activities on students’ abilities and interests. c. Can visualize students’ learning situations to adjust the steps of the above process. d. Can improve teaching expertise and capabilities using the storytelling teaching method. Ⅱ. Future researchers a. Can design appropriate teaching programs for enhancing cooperative behavior among higher graders. b. Can develop cooperation strategies. c. Can use other cooperation strategies and integrate them into teaching. d. Can use different methods to conduct the study. Lin,Yao-Sheng 林曜聖 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 195 zh-TW
