Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 土木工程學系碩士在職專班 === 101 === ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to investigate the cognition of scientific specific terms of teaching practitioners and to reduce the misunderstandings of elementary students during the study of science. This study collected major specific terms cited from “Science and Technology” textbooks for elementary education and further explained them based on different levels (society level, high school level, junior high school level, elementary school level, and the specific level of this research). Sixty-four major specific terms were selected in the domain of living environment and sustainable development. The following references have been applied for the development of explanations at different levels: (1) The Wikipedia and professional websites for society level; (2) High school textbooks for Physics, chemistry, biology and earth science; (3) Junior high school textbooks for " Science and Technology "; (4) Elementary school textbooks for " Science and Technology "; (5) Personal teaching experience for the specific level of this research. Based on this study, the cognition of scientific specific terms of teaching practitioners was explored. Teacher selected important terms were mostly in the field of scientific theories. The results developed in this research can be used as references for teachers and promote the understandings and achievements of elementary students in learning the knowledge of “Science and Technology“.
