Description
Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 工學院碩士在職專班 === 101 === This study aims to investigate the influence of fourth-graders at elementary schools in terms of their congition and practice on ecological conservation through cartoons animations in teaching. The research methodology involves questionnaire survey to conduct pre-tests/post-tests in the experimental and control groups. The questionnaire consists of three sections—basic information about the respondent, ecological coservation cognition scale and ecological coservation practice scale to covers the whole related aspects. The answers of question are weighted by the Likert 5-point scale and the collected data are analyzed by SPSS 18 software. Descriptive statistics, Independent sample t test and Analysis of Covariance are carried out for factor analysis. The results show that the fourth graders actually perform better in their cognition rather than in practice on ecological conservation. The teaching of ecological coservation integrated cartoons animations has received some positive feedbacks from the students, making significant differences in the cognition and practice of ecological coservation from the conventional lecture-based mode of teaching. While the respondents from the control group only show positive correlation between the cognition and practice of ecological coservation exclusively in the pre-test, those from the experiment group do so both in the pre- and post-test survey. In conclusion the cartoons animations in teaching program with ecological conservation topics can actually promote the cognition and practice of ecological conservation for school children.
