Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 教育學系碩士班 === 101 === This research intends to study contents and significances of different versions of moral education in validated social textbooks of elementary school and compare their differences. Refer to the six cornerstones of morality as core value and other documents, seven main qualities in moral education are induced: reliability, respectability, responsibility, impartiality, care, civic responsibility and self-discipline. These seven characters are then used to analyze the contents of moral education of different versions of social textbooks. The goal are to improve the validation of succeeding versions of social textbooks. This research includes two main parts: 1. Analyze contents and significances of three different versions of moral education in validated social textbooks of elementary school. 2. Compare the differences between theses three versions. The analysis shows the results below: 1. The frequency of appearance of moral texts in the different versions of social textbooks is studied: The maximum number of times is 144 in the Kanghsuan version. The second one is 116 times in Nanyi version. The last one is 108 times in Hanlin version. Then, the frequency of appearance of moral graphics in the different versions of society textbooks is studied : The maximum number of times is 97 in the Hanlin version. The second one is 90 times in Kanghsuan version. The last one is 80 times in Nanyi version. 2. The comprehension of moral education is increased with age. This research shows that there is less moral education in the 4th grade social textbooks than 3rd grade social textbooks. The result is opposite to the Yuan-ru Lin’s theory. The moral education decreases with age in all three versions of social textbooks. 3. “Cares” and “Civic responsibility” are the most popular moral quality appeared in three versions of social textbooks. “Self-discipline”, “reliability” and “impartiality” appear randomly. The partiality for some specific quality has inevitably certain influence on the built up of morality of students.
