However, people with mental disabilities often lag behind others in their visual-motor integration ability. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Boccia intervention on the visual-motor integration of a student with moderate intellectual disability. A single-case research with an A-B-A-B design was adopted. One eight-year-old boy was selected as the participant. The independent variable was the Boccia intervention; the dependent variable was the participant’s visual-motor integration ability, reprented by the Berry-Buktenica Developmental Test, a computer-aided upper limb development assessment, a ball game skill test, an upper limb throwing test. Social validity was assessed through classroom-teacher questionnaires. Both visual and Tryon’s C statistical analyses were conducted on the within-phase and between-phase data. The Findings of this study are summarized as follows: Boccia intervention had effects on immediate promoting and maintaining the participant’s visual-motor integration performance. High social validity of the benefits from Boccia intervention was also demonstrated, leading to the conclusion that Boccia intervention can promote the performance of the participant’s daily life and academic activities.
