The questionnaire used in this study was designed by the researcher and concentrated on the learning attitudes of middle grades and higher grades in the elementary panel in mathematics. The questionnaire was given to fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in three public schools in Taichung city. The data was collected from 743 valid questionnaires by utilizing purposive sampling, and was analyzed by using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 12.0.) The significant level (α) was .05. The findings of the study were as follows. 1. The learning attitude of male students in mathematics was evidently higher than female students. Thus, gender is a factor in the learning attitude of mathematics. The self concept, learning plan, learning desire, and learning habits were four dimensions that the study investigated. The study revealed that the self concept and learning plan of male students was evidently higher than female students. In the dimensions of learning desire and learning habit, no differences between male students and female students was found. In addition, there were no differences found in the learning attitudes among the students in the three different grade levels in mathematics. 2. In mathematics, the correlations between self concept and learning desire were high. In mathematics, the correlations between learning attitude and learning habit were high. The other correlations were less significant than significant level .05. 3. There were significantly positive correlations between learning attitude and learning achievement of the elementary school students. 4. There were significant differences among the grades in the correlations of learning attitude and learning achievement in mathematics. In conclusion, the findings were recommended to teachers of mathematics as reference material. Also, the researcher has made available suggestions about learning mathematics for schools now and in the future. Hu, Feng-Rung 胡豐榮 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 116 zh-TW
