However, the overuse of antibiotic results in the emerging of the multidrug-resistant bacteria. There is a need to develop new antibiotics to treat the life-threatening infections caused by the resistant strains. In this study, GRC02-4-3 and GRC86-3-4-4b were isolated from indogenous bacterial fermentations. The minimum inhibitory concentration of GRC02-4-3 was 8 μg/ml for Escherichia coli, 32 μg/ml for Staphylococcus aureus, 32 μg/ml for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and 8 μg/ml for Mycobacterium smegmatis. The minimum inhibitory concentration of GRC86-3-4-4b minimum inhibitory concentration was 8 μg/ml for Escherichia coli, 0.25 μg/ml for Staphylococcus aureus, 2 μg/ml for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and 0.5 μg/ml for Mycobacterium smegmatis.
