Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 102 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the current instruction practices by preschool educators in the physical movement field and to explore differences in the professional growth needs of preschool educators from different backgrounds as well as related issues. With the study population consisting of public and private preschools that have undergone reorganization in Taiwan, this study adopted a purposive sampling method and selected the educators working for preschools in Taiwan, such as preschool directors, teachers, educare givers and educare assistants, as the study participants. The study also compiled the “Questionnaire on Current Instruction Practices and Professional Growth Needs of Preschool Educators in the Physical Movement Field” as the research tool. A total of 406 copies of the questionnaire were distributed, and 344 of them were returned, all of which were valid, accounting for a response rate of 84.7%. Data derived from the returned questionnaires were analyzed using statistical methods such as mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Pearson product-moment correlation. The research findings are as follows: 1. Preschool educators exhibited good performance in current instruction practices in the physical movement field, especially when it came to teaching principles. 2. Preschool educators showed good growth motivation in regard to their professional growth needs in the physical movement field. 3. Factors such as age, marital status, years of teaching experience, professional background and preschool size had an influence on the current instruction practices by preschool educators in the physical movement field. 4. The professional growth needs of preschool educators in the physical movement field were affected by factors such as age, marital status, years of teaching experience, preschool orientation and size. 5. A positive correlation was found between the current instruction practices by preschool educators in the physical movement field and their professional growth needs. Lastly, suggestions were proposed based on the findings and results of this empirical study to provide a reference for educational administration units, preschools, preschool educators and future researchers.
