When selecting talent as part of the organization’s strategy, should they choose a highly talented person? Or should they focus on the degree of person-organization fit and choose the one that fits better into the organization? This study investigated the effect of human capital on job performance and the moderating effect of person organization fit on human capital and job performance linkage. The information on human capital, person-organization fit and job performance was collected through questionnaires. This study made an analysis of the relationship between each variable and explored the degree of influence that person-organization fit has on the studied main effect. The empirical results show that human capital has a significantly positive effect on job performance. However, I found no moderating effect of person organization fit on human capital and job performance relationship. Finally, the contributions and managerial implications of this study include: since human capital has a significantly positive effect on job performance, human capital is the first priority for selecting talent. Enterprises should recruit and retain talents, as well as develop long-term strategic human resource management based on the status of human capital within the organization.
