Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 課程與教學研究所 === 102 === The purpose of this research is to discuss how to improve the “reading summarization” abilities of the fourth graders in primary school with reciprocal teaching method. The procedure of teaching is “predicting”, “questioning”, “clarifying”, and “summarizing”. Then students use “circling the important message”, “inducing”, “choosing and creating topic sentences”, and “polishing” the four summarizing strategies to write down the main idea of articles. The objects of this research are the fourth graders of a primary school in Keelung City. The research is done by Action Research. There are two cycles with fourteen periods in this teaching project. We hope that through this project, we can understand the effect of teaching summarizing with reciprocal teaching method and the learning performance of students in the teaching of summarizing strategies. Through the process of teaching, data collecting and analyzing, this research concludes: (1)Teaching with reciprocal teaching method can enhance the motivation in learning and the abilities of reading comprehension and summarizing of students. (2)Teaching with summarizing strategies can help students learn to summarize better and make the outlines of articles conciser and more fluent.
