The method of quasi-experimental design was used, and the subjects of study were 105 fourth grade students from four different classes at the National Taitung University Laboratory Elementary School. The students were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The former consisted of 53 students from two classes who received recorder instruction through technology integration, and the latter consisted of 52 students from two classes who were taught through traditional methods. Before instruction began, both groups of students took two tests, namely, a Knowledge of the Recorder Evaluation and a Recorder Skill Evaluation. Following the evaluations, both groups received instruction in six classes over a period of six weeks. After the six weeks, the students were evaluated once again with the previously mentioned tests. Furthermore, the experimental group filled out a survey on the experience of instruction with technology integration. After compiling and analyzing the data, the following results were found: 1. Knowledge of the Recorder Evaluation: After receiving instruction through technology integration, the experimental group’s Knowledge of the Recorder Evaluation scores were significantly higher than those of the control group. 2. Recorder Skill Evaluation: After receiving instruction through technology integration, the experimental group’s Recorder Skill Evaluation scores were significantly higher than those of the control group. 3. The students in the experimental group felt positive toward the technology integration method of instruction. Finally, the researcher would like to make specific recommendations regarding implementing the instruction of the recorder through technology integration based on the findings of this paper.
