It was designed for gifted young children who are hyperactive, have difficulty controlling their emotions and have low levels of concentration. Under this program, teachers, parents, and the counselor-researcher cooperated with each other to improve these children's self-control, attention span, and emotional control. In addition, this program was designed to allow these children to play a more positive role in their classes and families. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of this program and discuss the factors for a successful guidance program. It is hoped that this study will serve as a reference for teachers, parents and counselors who teach these children. The study finds that the program achieved the goal of helping these children attain improvements. Conclusions are as follows: (1) The strategy of externalizing problems works for these children. (2) Counselors need to provide teachers and parents with knowledge about educating and raising these children. (3) A positive environment can be created through encouraging, listening to, and empathizing with these children (4) Setting up the same set of guidelines both in the classroom and at home is beneficial. (5) It is essential to assist children in dealing with their hyperactivity. The suggestions for teaching these children are as follows: (1) Teachers and parents must make a distinction between the child and his/her hyperactivity, and maintain full confidence in the child’s potential. (2) The number of full-time counselors to assist children in kindergarten classrooms should increase. (3) The guidance program should emphasize the importance of education at home. (4) Kindergarten teachers should expand their knowledge of these children and the difficulties they face. 張英熙 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 254 zh-TW |
