Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 歷史學系所 === 103 === The so-called “history” must be influenced by its contemporary environment. What’s more, the authorities often choose and explain history according to their own needs. This kind of examples can often be found in different countries and different times. Therefore, the education of history is easily to be used as a tool to serve the authorities instead of bringing the functions which should have into full play. With the Taiwan’s abolition of martial laws, the school curriculum inclusive of Taiwan history, and the implementation of Grade 1-9 Curriculum, the teaching objectives, hours and content of Taiwan history education has changed with the transitions of the time. These transitions also have influences on the students’ cognition and comprehension of the textbooks. This paper tries to analyze the content of The Chanyuan Treaty in HanLin history textbook Book 3, which is published in 2014 academic year, and conducts a survey of eight-grade students with questionnaires in order to know if the students can break away from memorizing the historical facts only, and achieve the higher level of analysis of cause and effect and historical evaluation. The research found that because of the decrease of the class hours and the simplification of the content in history textbooks, the contemporary students have the problems of lacking enough prior knowledge in general. Their ability to analyze historical cause and effect also needs to be enhanced. However, to our great relief, the students’ ideologies and explanations toward history are getting more diversified and get rid of the past “centralized” Chinese nationalism.
