A pre-experimental design was adopted with 13 students of seventh-graders in Penghu County and a six-week teaching experiment was conducted. The research gathered the qualitative and quantitative data. The English learning motivation questionnaire and the English achievement test were adopted as the instruments of analysis before and after the experiment. The data were analyzed with statistical methods of Dependent-Samples T Tests by using SPSS for Windows.The qualitative data analysis of students’ feedbacks and instructor’s journals was also adopted to give further suggestions in the future. The main findings of this study are summarized as the following: 1. Using electronic textbooks integrated into English teaching can improve junior high school students’ learning motivation. 2. Using electronic textbooks integrated into English teaching can improve junior high school students’ learning achievement. 3. The perspectives and suggestions of students on using electronic textbooks to assist English learning included: (a) They have positive attitudes toward the animations and movies of electronic textbooks integrated into English learning. (b) They wish the teacher can let them play more games in class. (c) Using electronic textbooks to make corrections in class is helpful to promote learning efficiency. (d) They wish the teacher to use electronic textbooks integrated into English teaching in the future. 4. The perspectives and suggestions of the teacher on using electronic textbooks to assist English learning included: (a) Interactive interfaces of the electronic textbooks let them become students-centered in class. (b) The assistances of mind-mapping of the articles can advance the understanding of the reading.
