Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 地球環境暨生物資源學系環境教育與資源碩士班 === 103 === This study investigates the effects of concept map teaching on 4th grade elementary school students’ awareness, knowledge, attitude, and behavior related to Tamsui River. The research design used a sample of 26 4th grade students from an elementary school located in New Taipei City(near the Tamsui River). As part of the study, the researchers developed an environmental curriculum of river environmental conservation by integrating traditional school curriculum with the community river resources of the Tamsui River. An quivalent experimental research design was used with the 26 4th grade students. The students of the experiment group received the environmental curriculum of Tamsui River resources conservation for four weeks. The outcomes of the treatment were measured by surveys conducted before the treatment (pre-test) and after (post-test) the treatment. In addition to the quantitative data collected via questionnaires, qualitative data such as students’ learning records, students’ interview, and teachers’ interview are used to support and explain the results. The conclusions of this study are showed as follows: 1.Prior to the experiment, students’ awareness, knowledge and behavior were comparatively low,but the students' attitude were positive. 2. Students’ awareness, knowledge, attitude and behavior after the instruction were significantly higher than those students in the control group. 3.Concept map teaching helps students construct the concept and meaning of “environmental curriculum of Tamsui River”. Students and teachers retained a positive attitude and fully support environmental education. Based on the the results of this study, the authors made several suggestions for those instructors who also tried to conduct similar research or design related curriculum.
