In this action research, the author designs and conducts story discussion, collects and analyzes all the related information by way of data collection, observation records, interviews, teaching notes, video and audio recording. The results of this study are as follows: 1.Story discussion is useful in enhancing empathy in lower elementary grade students 2.Empathy story discussion teaching can positively enhance the empathy in lower elementary grade students 3.Discussion teaching leads to higher levels of empathetic thinking. 4.The establishment and promotion of empathy is appropriate for group learning. 5.The process of an action research helps the researcher conducts teaching reflection, focuses on students learning status and improves teaching as well as achieves professional goals and growth.
