The Effects of Augmentative and Alternative Communication Intervention on Expressive Communication for Individuals with Cerebral Palsy:A Systematic Review

碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 特殊教育學系研究所 === 105 === This study adopted systematic review process to explore the effects of AAC intervention on expressive communication for cerebral palsy in previous stduies. Four empirical studies from five major databases in English were analyzed through the two-step screening procedures. These studies were analysed by coding method and indicated that a total of ten participants join the process but was not clearly classified the types of cerebral palsy. Furthermore, this study investigated that most of the studies were (1) published between 1990 and 1999, (2) adopting single-subject multiple baseline design method, (3) the intervention was explicit instruction and dominated by teachers, and (4) applying speech generated device (SGD) as the AAC device. As a result, AAC interventions showed a strong improvement on participants' expressing communication behaviour due to the high influence level.
