The previous local education is only emphasized on how to learn dialects. The local education in Taiwan has many faults to improve. This study mainly discusses the development process of local cultural curriculum and the degree of students understanding the connotations in the elementary school. The researcher uses the action research and selects Daliao Red Beans as the topic to develop a series of local cultural curriculum. The results are found that it’s conducive to students to recognize local cultural connotations by the curriculum and teaching activity. The study suggests that local cultural connotations can be integrated into other fields and taken into the school-based curriculum.
