The subjects were 24 fourth graders from one class of Kuai-Le Elementary School in Taiwan’s Taichung City. The texts were six personification fairy tales selected from the Chiu Ko publisher in 2013, 2014 and 2015. After the subjects finished reading reports, the researcher analyzed their learning experience in order to improve the teaching design. The major research findings are summarized as follows: 1. To improve teaching design, the teacher could change the layout of the text, let students having group discussions, and use worksheets for writing skills in reading reports. 2. After learning how to write reading reports for fairy tales, the students’ reading reports had correct formats and rich contents. 3. The researcher realized in the teaching process that the instruction of writing strategies was important for students to learn how to write reading reports.
