Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 教師專業碩士學位學程 === 105 === This study aims to investigate the impact of Cooperative Learning on the English writing ability and attitude among 28 fifth graders. The study adopted pre-experimental in one-group pretest-posttest design. In total, 28 fifth graders from an elementary school in Tainan participated in the 12 English writing classes using the STAD (Students Teams-Achievement Divisions) strategy within 12 weeks. Data were collected through the pre-/post-tests of English writing ability and English writing attitude, the teacher’s observation journal and students’ feedback. Major findings of this study are as follows: 1.Using the Cooperative Learning strategy in English writing lessons helped enhancing the students’ English writing ability. 2.Using the Cooperative Learning strategy in English writing lessons helped improving the students’ English writing attitude. 3.Before implementing the Cooperative Learning strategy, the teacher needed to teach students how to work together and cooperate in completing a task. 4.To use the Cooperative Learning strategy, the teacher needed to strengthen class management and understand student differences. According to the findings, this study concluded with suggestions for future practices and research, including the process of using Cooperative Learning in English writing, the teaching materials, the curriculum design and the teacher’s feedback.
