This study examines the effectiveness of the curriculum in helping students recognize English vocabulary and the changes in their global perspective after their participation in the program, and to evaluate the reflections and growth among teachers during the course of this study. This was an active research. The participants in this study targets were 42 students from a private elementary school located in the metropolitan area of Taipei City in which the researchers teach. “The Kaleidoscope of International Cultures” consisted of 18 lessons. It aimed to expand the English language learning curriculum, to improve students’ ability to recognize English vocabulary, and to broaden their global perspective by integrating international education into the curriculum. The data collected from the self-made “International Festivals Knowledge Test” and “English Vocabulary Test” were used for qualitative analysis. During the implementation of the curriculum, the researchers collected and analyzed the quantitative data from their observations, reflections, activity feedback forms, worksheet, and interview records. The research concludes that: 1.“The Kaleidoscope of International Cultures” is an active learning process which suits the purpose of action research. 2.The program successfully improved students’ ability to recognize English vocabulary and broadened their global perspective after its implementation. 3.The researchers made reflections and experienced growth with regards to the integration of the international education during the implementation of the curriculum. Based on the above results, the researchers proposed the following suggestions to educators: 1.Continuously receive new knowledge and improve understanding of international education. 2.Make international education the focus of the curriculum and incorporate the teaching of international knowledge into existing curricula. Suggestions to school administrators are as follows: 1.Establish a committee for international education and improve teachers’ global perspective and their curriculum planning ability. 2.Provide international education training to teaching staff. Suggestion to future researchers is as follows: 1.Adopt team teaching to conduct further research, and develop international education materials. HSU, CHAO-SHENG 徐超聖 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 202 zh-TW
