Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 應用外語系 === 106 === The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationships among English learning anxiety, learner autonomy and English achievement in a technological university. The participants are 243 non-English major students in a technological university in central Taiwan. A questionnaire including the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) and the Learner Autonomy Scale was distributed. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation, simple regression analysis. The major findings were as follows: 1. English learning anxiety is negatively and significantly correlated with English achievement and it can effectively predict English achievement. 2. Learner autonomy is positively and significantly correlated with English achievement and it can effectively predict English achievement. 3. Learner autonomy is negatively and significantly correlated with English learning anxiety and it can effectively predict English learning anxiety. 4. English learning anxiety has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between learner autonomy and English achievement. The pedagogical implications of the study and suggestions for further research were provided.
