This study, by observing the children’s drawings reflecting themed class activities, focused on the cases of low correlation between the drawings and the themed activities. It aims to find out the way to improve the teaching quality by analyzing the contents of the drawings in such cases, and then exploring that factors resulting in low correlation. Four cases were chosen because their continuous two reflective drawings of themed activities were low correlation. This study used artwork analysis, teachers’ records, conversations with children, and collaborative in-depth interviews with teachers that analyzed 14 weeks of reflective drawings on theme-based activities. This research found that the contents of these low correlation reflective drawings primarily were imaginative drawings and drawings on the memories of the day and about school life. In addition, it is found that the main factors causing the low correlation was the low memories retrieving to the themed courses. Therefore, more prompts or a shorter time from activity to drawing could benefit these children to make an appropriate retrieving. Moreover, the teachers could encourage such students to participate the activities in themed courses, with an aim to facilitating their reflection from feeling and memory about themed activities.
