Geochemistry of Karoo basalts and dolerites in the northeastern Orange Free State: Recognition and origin of the new Karoo basalt magma types.
One of the most significant results emerging from the Karoo Volcanics Project of the NGP ls the recognition of a number of geochemically distinct basalt magma types occurring within the lower part of the Karoo volcanic pile in the Northeastern Cape and Southern Lesotho.
