Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 特殊教育學系所 === 101 === The purpose of this study was to examine whether high school students with intellectual disabilities would improve their performances on an interpersonal-relationship scale after participating adventure education activities. A nonequivalent pretest-posttest design of quasi-experimental designs was adopted, with 30 students with intellectual disabilities recruited from a special high school. Data on students’ interpersonal-relationship performances were collected using the Social Skills Rating System for Vocational Senior High School Students with Mental Retardation (Tsai, 2001), and were further analyzed using 〔Mann-Whitney U-test〕. The results revealed that adventure education activities significantly improved students’ scores on the interpersonal-relationship scale, especially for their behaviors regarding initiating and interpersonal friendships. Based on the findings, implications for practice and future research were further discussed.
